The pool is perfect for families with children, offering a safe and shallow area for them to enjoy the water without any worries, just like dipping your toes in a refreshing puddle. I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic Asian cuisine served at Cafe Aseya. Each dish transported me to a different country, bringing out the flavors like a symphony on my taste buds. The location of the hotel is ideal, being just a short drive away from popular entertainment centers and shopping malls. It's like having all the excitement and convenience right at your fingertips. The 25-meter saltwater swimming pool near the garden is a true oasis of relaxation. Lying on the sunbeds, it felt like being embraced by the ocean while surrounded by lush tropical greenery. The hotel offers a range of amenities and perks that truly enhance the overall experience. From the complimentary airport pick-up service to the helpful tour desk, they have everything covered.
Pool cleanliness could be improved a bit.

I love the location of the hotel. To wake up in the morning and look out unto the greeneries of the garden was soothing. No honking cars or fumes. The breakfast that comes with the room is enough to keep you going the whole day. I will stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to my friends and family.
Just wish they can control the tiny ants in the room although it never reaches the beds.

It is quiet and small like a boutique hotel.
no swimming pool and their breakfast has very limited choices. I have seen office cafeterias do better. No bar for late nighters.

Hotel Tropika is my go-to place in Davao. Staff's kindness on my first stay, helping me return my forgotten hairbrush, stuck with me. With Wi-Fi, free parking, pool, and more, it has everything I need. Ideal for a romantic escape. No regrets, always keep coming back.

Hotel Tropika is a very nice hotel. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and very quick in responding to our needs. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is quite simple but the cafe staff are friendly and the service is good. The hotel's location is very convenient, it is 10 minutes to Abreeza-Ayala mall, 10 minutes to Redemptorist church and near the wharf, where the boats are for Paradise Island resort, Samal Island. What I like with the hotel is that they also provide free pick-up from the airport and going to and from the wharf.
It would have been better if they have a swimming pool. Perfect for the family.

The hotel served as an ideal jumping-off point to explore all that Davao has to offer. We took advantage of its close proximity to Samal Island, a paradise for swimming and diving. The hotel also had a 24-hour reception and a tour desk, making it convenient for us to plan our family adventures. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring that we had a memorable stay.
My children wanted more activities specifically catered to them.

The location (near to airport) and close to shops, malls, city hall. it is set back quite a way from the busy road and therefore felt safe, private and quiet at all times. the staff are very friendly, helpful and willing to resolve any issues quickly and efficiently. the food is good to very good and priced reasonably well. accomodation prices are on par with other hotels...however, for the money i would pick 'tropika' every time. in fact that is what we did......we liked it so much compared to other hotels we rebooked for our second visit. the gardens and landscaping compliments the hotel. there is a lot of space / open area which gives it that comfortable feeling. i would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a good value for money, clean, well run hotel that is ideally located. i /we have stayed at 4 hotels in the davao area (some worse, some better(twice the price))...my next trip i will book in at tropika again.
occasionally (maybe 2 or 3 times out of 15 ) the room service food was a little cold.

The hotel was the perfect base for our adventurous escapades. We were able to easily explore the breathtaking Samal Island, where we enjoyed swimming and diving to our heart's content. The property's convenient location also allowed us to explore the lively cities in northern Mindanao. The 24-hour reception and tour desk were a game-changer, making it super easy for us to plan and book our thrilling activities!
If I had to suggest one thing for the hotel to improve on, it would be to add more fun and exciting activities for us young, party-going people. While the hotel provided a great jumping-off point for our adventures, it would have been even better if they had some cool and hip events or parties to keep the vibes going strong throughout our stay.
